The Sacrifice and the VoidAs the struggle reaches a breaking point, the monster of Chaos threatens to consume Sloane's humanity entirely. In a climactic act of love and selflessness, Sloane sacrifices his divine power and his physical life to banish a demonic invasion and protect Rune and their newborn son. He disappears into the Void, leaving Rune to return to New Orleans as a grieving widow and a single mother.
