This critical edition presents a comprehensive collection of Nietzsche's writings on suicide and voluntary death, based on an extensive and careful examination of his complete philosophical corpus, including both published works and posthumous fragments (Nachlass). Bringing together texts from different periods of Nietzsche's intellectual development, this volume reconstructs the emergence, transformation, and philosophical significance of one of the most complex and provocative themes in his thought. From his earliest reflections on voluntary death to his late analyses of nihilism, decadence, Christianity, medicine, and the value of existence, Nietzsche's writings reveal that suicide is never treated as a merely moral, religious, or medical issue. Reis of the Federal University of Pelotas (Brazil), whose academic research has focused extensively on the philosophical, historical, and cultural dimensions of suicide.
