Saffi the fennec has the biggest ears in the whole desert. And today, at last, she is allowed to make a pot all her own. A small one. A pot for Mama.
But when the little pot goes wobbly and slumps to one side, it feels like the loudest thing in the whole yard - and Saffi is sure that everyone saw.
Deep in the cool wet clay under her paws is one small, steady thing she already knows, and the clay does not mind being wrong yet. Slowly, Saffi finds her way back, and makes the bravest choice of all: to fire her wobbly pot anyway.
A tender, beautifully illustrated story about mistakes, the hot-faced feeling of being watched, and the quiet courage to try anyway - for every child who feels the world a little more than most, and the grown-ups who love them.
