After a whirlwind few days in Neverland, Wendy is left back at home reeling with longing for Peter and the adventures she left behind. With the lost boys joining her family, the pressure to grow up is more overwhelming than ever. Right as Wendy starts to wonder if she made the wrong decision to leave Neverland, Peter Pan shows up again to take her back. Seizing her chance at freedom from a mundane life and societal pressures, Wendy escapes London with him. The two embark on the adventure of a lifetime; striking up a turbulent, passionate love affair that will leave Wendy with the difficult decision to follow her head or her heart. Wendy learns moving on is a choice, and the life she wants comes at the price of losing Peter. No longer a young damsel in distress, Wendy realizes she has to save herself. She returns to London, and piece by piece, she builds an independent life as a nurse in London during World War One. While the memories of her first love follow her until her deathbed, she learns the power of love can transcend even the most impossible amounts of time and space.
