All is not well in the Village of Reed. This most ancient of villages within the Western Territories has persisted for thousands of years under the protection of a long line of powerful Stewards. However, the future safekeeping of the village is jeopardized when Isaiah, the aging Steward of Reed, finds reason to doubt the legitimacy of his apparent successor. Faced with increasing threats from the Komanites and rumors of Easterners invading the Borderlands, Steward Isaiah must be certain that the marked boy who appeared at the Council Chamber doorstep on the day of his 13th birthday is truly destined for Stewardship. With the Village Elders in disagreement over the boy, the Steward is forced to solicit advice from the Queen of the Western Wizards. But it is a long journey to her castle of white atop Mt. Xavier, and there is no guarantee that she shall have the answers he so desperately seeks. THE RISE OF FALLON, the first book in The Stewards of Reed series, begins a tale of quests set in motion by Steward Isaiah's dilemma: quests for answers, quests for vengeance, quests for enlightenment. Quests that have life-altering consequences.
