Object Code, Algorithm and Tomorrow's Decisive Weapons Advances in computer technologies have facilitated many US military capability advantages over the past few decades. The rapid defeats of adversaries in the early days of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom have served to validate the technological capability advantage held by the United States. The advantage is largely attributable to the US ability integrate a broad array of technologies through increases in computational capacity generated by modern microprocessors. The advanced flight control systems that allowed complex radar evading geometries and precision strike weapons delivered by modern combat aircraft were made possible by microprocessors. The importance electronics plays in future weapon systems will only increase.
