Follow the exploits and romantic entanglements of Buck, a young man moving from a country setting into a metropolitan one, as he tries to earn a higher education at a major University. He also unexpectedly begins a journey into the mysterious world of mental illness. While working as a psychiatric aide at a State Mental Institution, he witnesses an accumulation of events and actions not considered acceptable in society. As he journeys through his young life into this unrealistic setting of dealing with multiple unbelievable mental turmoils of the human mind, he realizes he is getting a dual education. One in the formal studies at the University and one in the unusual and sometimes unbelievable deficiencies of human nature. Additionally, included with his job, he is introduced to the world of the criminal population he has to deal with. Only his ability to adjust and adapt keeps him from being consumed by these multiple faceted situations not normally faced by a person on a normal day. Can he survive this multi-complexity of worlds he's been exposed to or will he succumb to them? What doesn't kill you, should only make you stronger. Which is the case for Buck?
