Jimmy and Cole despise their stepfather, Edwin Krollup. He's an intolerable tyrant, sure, but certain things happen in his presence. Strange things. Statues move. Sounds emanate from behind the fireplace. And each instance piques the boys' interest in their search for the haunted mines, a series of tunnels upon which Edwin built his house, years after the Auger coal mining company mysteriously disappeared in freak underground explosions. During the boys' investigation they uncover a much darker and deeper secret. Edwin Krollup is hiding something beyond the mines, and the stone necklace which finds its perennial stay around his throat is a powerful talisman from another world.and the creatures from this other world want it back! The Man with the Stone, the first book of The Inlands Trilogy, is an epic story in the same vein as The Chronicles of Narnia and the Lord of the Rings. Come join the adventure in the ultimate battle of good versus evil.and one world against another!
