Biding their time until they can come into the light and feed on all those who will allow their fears to take hold of them. But just when Rema and Bucky think things can't get any worse, they encounter the real nightmare that is behind the bloodshed, and who is also controlling the one Rema thought she could love and trust. It is a battle of attrition, dragged on until entire cities are full of the thinning, elves fading and dying, becoming empty husks who are unaware they are even dead. They haunt the city like ghosts, trying to recapture what was so cruelly torn from them. The darkness clings like a shroud over the town, allowing none respite from the shadows that feed on those trapped within.
