I was only twenty years old when I died. Who would have thought that with death came immortality?
Britchelstone is plagued by a rampant serial killer targeting young women. Mere weeks after turning twenty, Scarlet Cherie finds herself as his first victim; left to rot on the side of the road, she slips into the darkness, awaiting her mortal fate. Awaking to find herself in the presence of enigmatic Nikolaos, Scarlet's life is about to change in ways she could never have envisaged. As the killer continues to strike, Scarlet is thrown into an unprecedented reality where fact and fiction are blurred.
With an entourage of preternatural creatures, as well as her own newfound powers, she plots to bring her killer to justice, all the while coming to terms with living a life shrouded in shadows and bloodlust.
At times, catching a murderer seems to be the least complicated aspect of Scarlet's new life. Living with a vampire and delving into arcane truths have their own dark and daunting complexities...
Reviews for the book:
The Fire Within My Heart has wonderful flowing prose and an exciting murder mystery. Written by a real, practising witch, the use of Magick feels genuine and the characters are all diverse and incredibly fun.
Intense work, would hook those who enjoy heavy paranormal fantasy.
-Des Astor, author of the Kingdoms of Blood Series
While Scarlet (the MC) had some difficulty in quantifying that part of herself as well as that side of her lover, there still were those reminders; vampires can still be as sexy as sin, but they still are monsters at the end of the day.
-S.S Long, author of the Dragons of Fire and Ice Series.
An excellent story about the supernatural. Vampires take the spotlight, but there are many other fascinating entities within this book as well. If you like Interview with a Vampire and True Blood, you'll likely enjoy The Fire Within My Heart.
-Reyadh Rahaman, author of Inner Expanses
