Adults and children alike will see themselves within the pages of this inspired story of pain turned into peace. The Feather from Heaven offers concrete visuals to aid in explaining abstract concepts like releasing cares, worries, anxiety, fear, and pain. Readers can imitate Lily's actions when praying, building confidence in the power of prayer, and more importantly, the power of the One who hears every prayer and catches every tear.
Little Lily and her charming dog, who goes with her everywhere, are caught in an unexpected storm, which rains down blue pebbles. One of the pebbles gets stuck in Lily's heart, and over time grows, becoming too heavy and robbing all her joy. Her dog is sad with her, and her parents are concerned. In prayer one night, Lily surrenders the weighty stone to God, who gently takes it, then hurls it into the depths of the sea. Lily is ecstatic! But now there's a hole in her heart where the stone used to be. What will take the boulder's place and fill her heart?
Endorsement:
One of the greatest gifts we can give our children is the freedom to express the inevitable sadness and anxiety that come with being human. The Feather from Heaven speaks straight to the heart of the matter with bright hope and whimsy. My kids will reach for this gem of a book again and again.
