5 Stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ - Home School Book Review
Petronelli weaves a Christian-themed holiday tale that offers no hint of the ending, which is indeed a surprise, and will have young readers rooting for the boys as they try to save Christmas for Shiloh.
Pritchett's full color, painterly illustrations are soft and muted with a pleasant glow that adds to the book's overall charm.
A warm and inspirational holiday tale
Planting a Seed of Faith in the hearts of our children -
What greater gift could we possibly give?
It is Christmas Eve, and the small foothill Village of Shiloh was suffering from a severe drought. Aside from not having water for their crops, the people had no Christmas trees.
A father retells the story to his young daughter that took place forty years ago. A story that no one in the Village of Shiloh will ever forget.
So begins author Dan Petronelli's eloquent parable of faith, chronicling the spiritual journey of a group of young boys.
The boys hatched a plan to secretly climb over the mountain in search of a beautiful, living Christmas tree, a symbol of hope, to bring back home to their Village.
They did not know that a perilous blizzard was on its way.
This award-winning book weaves a timeless tale of the joy and the blessings of faith.
- Beautiful expressive illustrations.
- A precious memorable gift.
- Assures children that God is always by their side.
- The importance of loving your neighbor.
- The beautiful power of just one tiny seed.
What readers are saying:
This truly is a timeless tale of faith. A story that a family could share in a few nights every year before Christmas. A perfect holiday gift.
I am not ashamed to say that my eyes teared up a time or two while reading this Christmas tale. I can only imagine how worried I would have been as a parent of one of those boys.
I highly recommend this story. It is a page turner that will keep your child's interest. I wouldn't be surprised to see it as a movie someday - it's that good!
This powerful stirring, wind-swept tale, will make your heart break and soar in equal measures and will become a treasured memory your family shares every Christmas season.
