The Twi-books have sold 160 million copies (by 2020), and Twilight spent 235 weeks on the bestseller list of the New York Times. The Twilight movies were huge hits: Twilight grossed $402 million worldwide, New Moon $687m, Eclipse $706m, Breaking Dawn Part 1 $684m and Breaking Dawn Part 2 $829m. (A total gross of about $3.3 billion).
This book explores the novels and the movies in detail, sometimes employing theory, and sometiimes taking a wry, humorous approach to this much-loved series.
