When eighteen-year-old wolf shifter Reese Ayers leaves the familiar safety of Texas Ranch to follow his fated mate to Dragomir, he expects resistance. He does not expect war.
Named heir to the legendary Obsidian Order by a grieving commander, Reese finds himself trapped inside a society that has spent thousands of years believing dragons should rule dragons. To them, he is an outsider. A wolf. A mistake.
While political enemies work behind the scenes to force his failure, Reese faces impossible training, hostile commanders, and traditions older than human civilization itself. Every test is designed to prove he doesn't belong.
But Reese has survived worse. With the support of Premier Elect Ulia Drago, a brilliant young dragon destined to rule, Reese refuses to quit.
As sabotage escalates and the Order edges toward collapse, he discovers that the greatest threat to Dragomir is not an enemy army-it is a system too rigid to adapt.
Now, Reese must decide whether to become the leader they want...Or the leader they need.
As ancient loyalties fracture and dangerous secrets come to light, one young wolf may change the future of dragons forever.
