Transitory Epoch is a literary dark fantasy novella about Simon Harrow, a controlled, grief-stricken man whose life has narrowed after his mother's death. He begins meditating only to quiet his mind, but soon sees a pale circle whenever he closes his eyes. At first, the circle appears to be a strange visual phenomenon. Then movement appears within it. Then memories. Then entire lives that do not belong to him.
As Simon follows the circle deeper, he begins experiencing past lives, out-of-body travel, and eventually a passage beyond Earth itself. He reaches an alien world beneath unfamiliar stars, where he forms into a new body and is rescued by Sera, an otherworldly being who recognizes him more deeply than anyone on Earth ever has. Through Sera, Simon learns a different way of living: one built on openness, shared memory, grief, and connection rather than control.
Simon and Sera build a life together, but their love is bounded by forces neither can change. Their union cannot create children, and later Sera's world begins to die. When catastrophe comes, Simon loses her and returns to Earth after only four hours have passed, carrying years of love and grief no one else can understand.
Back on Earth, Simon breaks down. He falls into addiction, isolation, and despair before slowly beginning recovery. The novella follows him as he learns to live with impossible grief, to accept help, and to believe that love does not vanish simply because one form of life has ended.
At its core, Transitory Epoch is about reincarnation, cosmic love, grief, addiction, and the fragile hope that the people we lose may still return to us in ways we cannot predict.
