At twenty-eight, Lloyd's life is scorched to the ground. After discovering his husband Fred's infidelity with a colleague, a ruthless divorce leaves Lloyd stripped of his family inheritance and his dreams for the future. Broken and bitter, he flees his home in Devon for a new life in Leamington Spa, seeking a distraction from the void left by his betrayal.
But the distraction Lloyd finds is far darker than he imagined.
Plunged into a world of recreational escapism and the occult, Lloyd becomes entangled with a secretive religious sect obsessed with summoning ancient, atmospheric entities. Fueled by a growing hatred for the man who ruined him, Lloyd's grief curdles into a thirst for vengeance-a thirst that catches the attention of a demon named Finister.
On a night of absolute despair, Finister offers Lloyd a deal: the total, agonizing ruin of his ex-husband in exchange for Lloyd's soul. Lloyd accepts, waking the next morning to find a chilling physical mark of the pact-his left eyebrow has turned bone-white.
As the curse begins to ripple through the lives of those he once knew, Lloyd must watch as his dark wish manifests in ways more devastating than he bargained for. When he eventually finds a chance at true happiness with a new partner, he realizes that the demon's contract is far from over. A chance encounter abroad reveals that Lloyd is not the only one wearing the silver brand, leading him to a haunting realization: the price of revenge may be a soulless eternity, and the ghost of his anger might cost him the very love he thought he had finally reclaimed.
