SHADOWS OF THE OBOROZUKI - BOOK 1:

Within the holy marshes of Musashi, just outside the Kuki mountains of upland Japan, existed the legendary Oborozuki clan. Their beliefs rooted in staunch loyalty to the Western Emperor, they held the conviction that those of the other courts lacked the spiritual aptitude and moral rectitude to rule a nation.

In a land shrouded in mystery and ancient traditions, the Oborozuki clan existed as the rightful protectors of their warrior village, Oborozu. Many years had passed since the defeat of Hamuza, the demon of the underworld, by the skilled forces of the Oborozuki. On a fateful night, when the fog was thick and the moon glowed full, a storm began to brew, heralding the arrival of a child destined for great things. Amidst the chaos of thunder and lightning, Lady Kiko, the wife of King Yamada Musashi and a descendant of the noble Ahayato royal lineage, brought forth a beautiful baby boy. They named him Prince Hiro Muzashi, a fitting tribute to his illustrious father and the timeless traditions that bound their clan together. The village rejoiced at the birth of their future ruler, for the timing of his arrival was considered highly auspicious. It was said that in the midst of a storm, when the full moon graced the sky, the birth of a child would bring prosperity and fortune to the Oborozuki clan. Thus, with this belief intertwined with their destiny, the Oborozuki set forth to raise Prince Hiro as the chosen one.
