War is coming, and once again Jeff, Aubrey, and Orhan find themselves in a deadly struggle they could neither anticipate nor avoid. Three years before, in Vale of Shadows, they barely survived a curse placed on their families five hundred years before during the Ottoman invasion of Albania. At that time, Jeff kept a trinket that belonged to the djinn, now that careless act has put him, Aubrey, and Orhan in grave danger, and the djinn are relentless in their pursuit to retrieve what is theirs. As the trio struggle for answers and survival their quest has them dodging the djinn at every turn through Turkey, Kazakhstan, and Albania. They ultimately forge an unlikely alliance with a reclusive Soviet space scientist, and a Spetsnaz Special Forces team on their own mercurial mission. Rob Dakin's thriller, Shadow's Keep, is the fast-paced, spellbinding sequel to Vale of Shadows, and follows the adventures and misadventures of three friends who are once again churned into a vortex of danger and intrigue. When they inadvertently spy into the realm of the djinn they are overwhelmed with the horror of realizing that something they thought they had lost was now found. Is there any hope? Are they too late? To save, they must first survive the forces determined to destroy them. Rob Dakin has been a dentist for thirty-two years, and has participated in numerous dental missions in Albania, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Liberia, and Kenya. He and his wife Karen have five children, and six grandchildren, and reside in Kansas.
