How was the alpha's meeting? he inquired, rising from his seat and walking over to the mini bar. He poured two drinks and handed one to me, a gesture to ease the tension between us.
Nervously, I accepted the glass, taking a large gulp to calm my nerves before I began, The usual stuff, Keal. But I knew I couldn't withhold the truth for long, not from the Alpha I respected and admired.
Seeing through my hesitation, Keal's patience waned, and he looked at me sternly. Enough with the evasive answers, Ethan. Tell me what's bothering you.
