Star Addicks is a light-hearted look at some of Charlton Athletics's most well-known celebrity fans, an idea which came about while David, a Charlton fan, was having a drink with a few supporter friends after a match. They began talking about celebrities who supported football clubs, and the names of a few who were Addicks supporters were thrown in too, the first on the list was, of course, Jim Davidson.

When Charlton were playing in the top tier of the English Football League, rivals such as Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Tottenham could claim a host of famous celebrity fans over the years, they would usually pop out of the woodwork when 'their' clubs were doing well, playing in a cup final or heading for the First Division league title. The Addicks, however, have also had a fair share of celebrity fans over the years who have declared their allegiance to the club at some point during their lives, before, during, or after becoming famous, the difference was, Charlton weren't a fashionable club well known for winning a succession of cups and titles.

In this publication, David has included some interesting information about the club's pictorial past and appearances on the big and small screen, along with a variety of Star Addicks, accompanied by descriptive histories and amusing caricatures.
