Qué sucede cuando una obra sacra deja de aparecer como una imagen inmóvil de lo trascendente y revela, bajo la belleza de sus formas, el drama vivo de la existencia?
En este ensayo, Roberto Barreca propone un análisis estético del Stabat Mater de Giovanni Battista Pergolesi a partir de la interpretación dirigida por Claudio Abbado con la Orchestra Mozart de Bolonia en 2007.
La escucha se convierte aquà en una experiencia de investigación: cada pieza abre una región estética en la que se entrelazan dolor y belleza, juventud y muerte, memoria y deseo, lo humano y lo divino.
Lejos de reducir la obra a su contexto histórico, a la biografÃa del compositor o al análisis de la partitura, el autor reivindica para la estética musical un punto de observación autónomo. Desde una perspectiva fenomenológica, enriquecida por la escucha psicoanalÃtica de la propia vivencia, la música es interrogada por aquello que hace aparecer en la conciencia mientras acontece en el tiempo.
La interpretación de Abbado adquiere asà una importancia decisiva. Su particular levedad no atenúa el carácter trágico del Stabat Mater: lo transforma. Bajo su batuta, el dolor conserva su dimensión humana y carnal, pero se eleva hacia una dimensión de belleza y de trascendencia. De este encuentro surge una hipótesis central: la categorÃa estética que articula la obra podrÃa ser la del lamento, entendido no solo como expresión del sufrimiento, sino como una forma de belleza capaz de transfigurarlo.
Pergolesi y Abbado aparecen asà en una misma constelación estética: la de una juventud ontológica, breve y destinada a desaparecer, cuya pérdida deja tras de sà una belleza que continúa interrogando al oyente.
Un ensayo sobre Pergolesi, Abbado y la belleza del lamento, pero también sobre aquello que la música puede revelar cuando la escucha se convierte en pensamiento.
