En 1949, al final de su vida, MarÃa Montessori publicó La mente absorbente: la sÃntesis más madura de cincuenta años observando al niño. En él describió, sin un solo aparato, fenómenos que entonces parecÃan poesÃa y que hoy la neurociencia, la neuroeducación y la psicomotricidad iluminan desde otro ángulo: la plasticidad del cerebro infantil, los perÃodos sensibles, la unidad entre el movimiento y la inteligencia, la emoción como motor del aprendizaje.
Primera edición publicada por la Asociación Montessori de México A.C. (AMMAC). Roxana Muñoz Guevara -presidenta de la AMMAC desde 1997 y especialista en Psicomotricidad Aplicada y PsicologÃa Infantil- pone el pensamiento de Montessori a conversar, capÃtulo a capÃtulo, con lo que hoy sabemos del cerebro que aprende. Y lo hace con una honestidad poco común: no usa la ciencia como medalla, sino que muestra dónde hay convergencia real, dónde hay tensión legÃtima y de qué neuromitos debemos cuidarnos.
El libro recorre:
- La mente que se construye a sà misma. La mente absorbente y la plasticidad cerebral; el embrión espiritual y los primeros mil dÃas; los perÃodos sensibles frente a los perÃodos crÃticos de la neurociencia.
- El cuerpo que piensa. La unidad entre movimiento e inteligencia, la psicomotricidad (Wallon, Ajuriaguerra, Aucouturier) y la cognición encarnada; la mano como órgano de la inteligencia.
- Lenguaje, atención y emoción. La explosión del lenguaje y por qué se aprende de personas y no de pantallas; el orden, el ambiente preparado y la concentración; solo se aprende con emoción, pilar de la neuroeducación.
- El trabajo y el adulto. Normalización, flujo y funciones ejecutivas; el papel del adulto, la corregulación y los obstáculos que ponemos sin querer.
