This collection of 48 essays begins to answer the question, what has happened to our universities? How have our most elite institutions devolved into indoctrination centers where merit is no longer celebrated and rewarded? Instead, an obsession with diversity, equity, and inclusion has seen a lowering of academic standards, the politicization of scholarship, and whole departments--especially of Middle East Studies--hijacked by radical leftist professors with a hatred of the West, and Israel specifically. The worldview in which there are oppressors and the oppressed has created a cult of victimhood on campuses in which perceived victim groups enjoy protection from harassment and judgment, while other, oppressor groups--white men, conservatives, Jewish students, Christians, heterosexuals, among other disfavored groups--are ignored or expected to suffer in silence. And while university administrators continue to insist that their institutions defend freedom of speech for members of their respective campus communities, radical, anti-Israel groups such as Students for Justice in Palestine, as well as indignant students wishing only their point of view to be expressed, regularly shout down, have canceled, and otherwise disrupt speakers with views different than the prevailing Leftist orthodoxy on most campuses.
