Synopsis:
In the dawn of time, humans were a simple species, living in harmony with nature. They hunted, gathered, and created, united by a common desire to survive and thrive. But as they evolved, so too did their desires. They sought power, wealth, and control, leading to conflict and destruction.
Shenanigans is about history of humanity from stone age caves through the civilisations who created chaos and conflicts for religious reasons. A Tragicomic Saga of Gods, Wars, and Holy Nonsense
Oh, the Homo sapiens-what a delightfully bizarre species we are! The only creatures on Earth blessed with the triple curse of self-awareness, existential dread, and an insatiable need to argue over which invisible sky-friend is the correct invisible sky-friend.
1. The Great Divine Paradox
Every religion claims:
Our god is love!
Our god is peace!
Also, if you don't worship our god, we might have to stab you a little. For peace.
Humans: This makes perfect sense.
2. The Holy Wars(TM) - Now with Extra Hypocrisy!
Crusades: Let's march across continents to reclaim holy land... by slaughtering everyone in it!
Jihads: Convert or die! (But also, our prophet preached mercy. Oops.)
Modern Twitter Theology: I will destroy you for disrespecting my beliefs (which are totally about tolerance).
God(s), probably: Guys. Guys. This isn't what I meant-
3. The Sacred Business Model
Religion: The original multi-level marketing scheme.
Step 1: Promise eternal happiness (terms and conditions apply).
Step 2: Collect donations (For the church. Definitely not for my golden palace.).
Step 3: Blame suffering on lack of faith (convenient!).
Humans, nodding: Flawless logic.
4. Meanwhile, in Reality...
Science: The universe is 13.8 billion years old.
Humans: Nah, my 2,000-year-old book says otherwise.
Also Humans: Why is there so much suffering
5. The Ultimate Irony
Every religion preaches unity, love, and brotherhood-while somehow producing more divisions than a math textbook.
God A: Love thy neighbor!
God B: Kill thy neighbor!
Humans: Hmm, tough choice. Welp, time for another holy war!
The Bittersweet Truth
We're all just terrified apes, clinging to stories to make sense of a chaotic universe. Maybe the real holy war is the one inside us-between fear and compassion, dogma and doubt.
So here's a radical idea:
What if we don't murder each other over fairy tales?
(Nah, too sensible. Back to crusading!)
