The Covenant that binds all Lands has collapsed. Hordes of ferocious demons, called mirrax, roam the lands of the Orwold and destroy the last remaining hamlets and castles. Deep in the forest, fugitives resign themselves to death. In the chaos, Annys, the countess of Gander, flees to a remote village with her newborn daughter Fulia.Fulia grows up knowing little of the plight of her mother, but this changes when she meets a knight who tells about the Covenant and its exiled member: the hidden Fortress of Agiana. When Fulia has to leave her village, he guides her to the monastery of Nivantes. There, she discovers that her own mother caused the demise of the Covenant. Against the will of those who love her, Fulia sets out on a dangerous journey to save the Lands. The much-praised Dutch fantasy novel about togetherness in a destructed world, now in translation. **** The author shows how much thought he has put in this world and in his main character. This is clearly a work of love, which are the best. - Johan Klein Haneveld, fantasy author and reviewer. ***** Wow, what a story! This is fantasy as it is meant to be. Written in its purest form, as if all of it is true. I enjoyed every page, and you notice it has been written with great care. Everything fits, up to the most detailed part of the history. AMAZING! - Cisz Strasters -the Bookbabe - one of the premier book bloggers in the Netherlands. ***** Exciting, full of mysticism and of a beautiful profundity. A wonderful book. - Ferry Visser, bookseller and book blogger.
