They flushed him like garbage. They should have made sure he was dead.
Subject R-1T was a failure. A lab rat injected with experimental arcane energy that was supposed to kill him. Discarded by cold, clinical mages, he was tossed down a disposal chute into the city's fetid underbelly.
But the experiment didn't kill him. It changed him.
Awakening in the toxic darkness of the sewers, R-1T finds he is no longer just a rat. A blue interface hovers in his vision, a System that rewards the strong and devours the weak. To survive, he must embrace his new reality:
Hunt. Consume. Evolve.
From venomous slugs to hive-minded drones constructing a terrifying empire in the deep, the sewers are teeming with predators. R-1T starts at the bottom of the food chain, but he doesn't plan on staying there. Every kill brings new Biomass. Every level brings new mutations.
The Arcanists thought they were disposing of trash.
Instead, they were forging a monster.
He survived the sewers alone. Now, he builds an army.
R-1T has defeated the Hive's siege beast, but the war has only just begun. The Hivemind isn't just hunting him anymore; they are terraforming the dungeon. A Crimson Lattice of resin is spreading through the tunnels, turning the sewers into a surveillance network where nowhere is safe.
But R-1T is no longer just a solitary predator.
When a Lesser Rat from his past returns, R-1T unlocks a powerful new evolutionary path: [Pack Bond].
Now, he must do the impossible. Take a swarm of frightened, low-level rodents and forge them into a lethal fighting force. Through shared XP, tactical buffs, and shadow-infused stealth, R-1T will turn the Hive's prey into its worst nightmare.
The Hive has a billion eyes. R-1T has the shadows.
And he's not fighting alone anymore.
The Hive is expanding.
R-1T and his pack cross the Old Sector boundary and step into the Hive proper, where the walls breathe resin and the air itself carries commands.
Corridors regrow behind them. Exits vanish. Every wrong turn becomes a funnel into certain death.
Then the surface breaks open.
A salvage crew drops into the sewers with anti-magic lanterns and null rods, hunting resin and lost arcane tech.
Their presence makes R-1T's senses stutter and turns the Hive into a war machine on full alert. The Queen does not rush to kill the intruders. She herds them, using them as moving bait to drag R-1T deeper into her throne route.
Worse, she reaches for his bond, twisting pack signals into lies, flooding him with phantom pain, trying to make him issue the one command that will get his own rats killed.
Only Runt can keep him anchored.
Only the pack can survive long enough to reach the resin cathedral where the Queen waits, surrounded by living relays and royal guards, with three factions ready to collide in one brutal, final fight.
Down here, the last evolution is not power.
It is leadership.
