Inflammation plays a crucial role in oral carcinogenesis by creating a microenvironment that promotes the initiation, progression, and spread of cancer. Chronic inflammatory conditions lead to the continuous release of inflammatory cytokines, growth factors, reactive oxygen species (ROS), and reactive nitrogen species (RNS).
