The current study intent to examine the role of emotional intelligence in marital adjustment among female and male married individuals. The foremost aim of the study is to determine the relation between the emotional intelligence and marital adjustment among Pakistan married females and males. Also, to study the demographic variable with respect to emotional intelligence and marital adjustment i.e., gender and duration of marriage. The sample of 200 married individuals were selected by employing convenience sampling technique. The Revised Dyadic Adjustment Scale (Bubsy et.al,1995) and Schutte Self-Report Emotional Intelligence Test (Schutte et.al, 2009) were used to determine emotional intelligence and marital adjustment. Results indicate that there's significant relation between emotional intelligence and marital adjustment (r=.22). The analysis of the current work indicate that emotional intelligence is the important predictor of marital adjustment among Pakistani married individuals (p=.03). Gender differences indicate that females married individuals have high emotional intelligence as compared to male married individuals (p=.02).
