The story is told from the perspective of Deri, an elderly villager who reflects on the rhythms of life in a small, self-sufficient community. Through his observations, we see a world that values simplicity, resourcefulness, and harmony with nature. Yet, his peaceful musings are undercut by an unsettling development: one night, only four Riders appear on the ridge.
This first break in the Riders' perfect vigil shakes the villagers, forcing them to confront questions they have long avoided. Who are the Riders? Where do they come from? And what does their sudden change mean for the villages they protect? As fear and uncertainty spread, the narrative promises to unravel secrets, explore the bonds of community, and examine how small disruptions can upend even the most steadfast traditions.
