Chance has just moved to Florida, and everything feels wrong. He misses his old school, his old friends, and the life he left behind. At his new school, most of the kids speak a different language, and no one seems to notice him - except to laugh.
Every night, Chance kneels beside his bed and prays the same prayer: I just need one friend, God. Please.
Weeks pass. Nothing changes. His patience turns to frustration, and his frustration turns to anger. Why isn't God listening?
When Chance's dad steps in and shows up at school lunch with laughter, kindness, and chicken wings, everything shifts - not because the other kids suddenly changed, but because one act of love opened a door that prayer had already been preparing.
Prayer for a Friend is a warm, honest story for children about what it means to wait on God, trust the people who love you, and discover that sometimes the answer to your prayer is already standing right beside you.
Perfect for family devotionals, Sunday school, and classroom read-alouds, this book gently teaches children that faith is not just something we feel - it is something we do, and something God honors in His own perfect time.
