Using farming for an illustration, if a farmer fails to do the pre-farming activities such as tilling the soil or weeding before planting. The result would be that whatever he plants on such a farmland would not grow well.
This illustration can be applicable in our normal lives. The pre-farming activities can be seen as the time we have before the main activity we embark upon, while the main activity is the farming proper. Failure to prepare very well prior to the main activity could easily result to poor performances in the main activity.
