The formidable Zayon is one of the People of the Sea, descended from the survivors of an ancient genetic experiment. In Atalan City, they built an aquatic civilization. Camara rescues Zayon from certain doom, and a bond is forged between a Son of the Land and a Son of the Ocean. The world of post-Apocalyptic, possibly post-Human Planet Earth isn't ready for friends such as these. On the land or in the ocean, there can be only one apex predator. The Humans see the Mermaids and Mermen as Monsters, and the People of the Sea see the Humans as their ultimate enemies. Both sides might have to put aside their differences because an ancient enemy is rising from the Deep, and it will show no mercy to any sentient beings it encounters...
