Aristophanes' Peace is a classical Athenian comedy that satirizes war and celebrates the restoration of harmony through wit, absurdity, and political insight.
In Peace, first performed in 421 BCE during the Peloponnesian War, Aristophanes presents the story of Trygaeus, an ordinary Athenian who grows weary of endless conflict and resolves to take matters into his own hands.
