Cystic vestibular schwannoma is a variant of the classic vestibular schwannoma, characterized by the presence of cystic components within the tumor. This form has distinct clinical, radiological and evolutionary features. Clinically, it is often associated with a more rapid progression of symptoms, including hearing loss, tinnitus and balance disorders, due to a more pronounced mass effect. Radiologically, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) reveals heterogeneous areas with liquid and solid portions, sometimes with liquid levels, which can complicate differential diagnosis with other lesions of the cerebellopontine angle.
