Funny, gripping and edgy.
A riveting read packed with fantastic characters, taut action, and excellent dialogue.
Now retired, Ed should be unwinding from his 30-plus years terminating over 70 people. But to his chagrin, he's starting to see some of the dead on the snow-covered grounds of his rest home and on his apartment balcony-their glaring eyes accusing, their death wounds freshly bleeding.
Still grieving his beloved wife's death, he spends time with Moxie, a nice enough lady he could take or leave. But when she is suddenly the victim of a horrific crime, Ed is forced to use his old skill set.
Pearl, a rookie hitwoman Ed has trained and thinks of as his daughter, stops by to visit. Hours later, she is thrust into a job that is way over her head, and for the second time in two days, Ed must draw upon his years of killing experience.
But this time, the target is winning, putting Ed and Pearl into a desperate fight to save both their lives.
