Meanwhile, in a small village on the southwestern tip of Ireland, 18-year-old Kaetlyn O'Sullivan, a very gifted and intelligent woman, finds herself suddenly having visions about places and things she has never experienced in her life. She goes to a psychologist who resorts to regressive therapy, and it soon becomes clear to both, despite the incredulity of it all, that Kaetlyn is having visions of her past life. As this scenario is unfolding, the Irish military exhumes a strange craft buried in the nearby coastal area. When the dots finally start to connect, Kaetlyn and her psychologist realize that her visions and the appearance of this craft, are directly connected. Kaetlyn is inexorably cast onto the stage of an international theater, as global powers fight to gain control of the alien craft and soon discover that only she can access the craft and the system which controls it, an Artificial Intelligence calling itself L.I.N., short for Living Intelligent Network. As tensions grow, as global warming advances mercilessly and threatens the world, Kaetlyn is tasked with coming to terms with her past life and what it means to the future of humanity.
The Other is followed by its sequel - L.I.N. where the thrilling end to this story is revealed.
What an extraordinary book! It blends my favorite concepts such as history, psychology, past life, and spirituality, plus loads of twists and turns that made me unable to put it down until finished. I felt as if I was reading the script of a future motion picture, one of the magnitude of movies such as Interstellar or First Contact.

Marina Osipova, author of The Cruel Romance Réal Laplaine has written a true masterpiece that is hard to put aside, even when you HAVE to sleep. The story unfolds in separate, but entangled lines of events. Real has mastered tempo and shifting of the entangled stories so that you as the reader are hooked to the story, as if you were there. I highly recommend the book for everyone of a broad mind that likes the unknown, intermingled with geopolitics, past-life and with a touch of an alien interception with a positive and do-good agenda. Cannot wait until the follow-up is here!
