A university student from Toronto, Canada, takes a short vacation to Calcutta, India, where a friend introduces him to a special place. Jared, unaware of what he is walking into, suddenly finds himself in a room with a twelve-year-old girl who calls herself Hann'Sha. Shocked that she expects to have sex with him, Jared flees the building but soon finds himself consumed with both guilt and a passion to help her. The story that ensues is inspired by true events, because it is the story of countless thousands of young children in India, and elsewhere, who are sold into sexual servitude by impoverished families, and who live a life as such until they either die or serve no further use. Jared makes it his mission to save Hann'Sha, but to do so he will have to face a corrupt law enforcement and worse, a criminal underworld, one that would kill him before letting her go. Can he do it or is he walking into certain death?
See Me Not was inspired by an eight-year-old girl living in the ditches of Calcutta. Her perseverance and will to survive is the reason behind this story - one intended to put the spotlight on a global issue - the human trafficking pipeline - a multi-billion-dollar global industry today.
Written in elegant prose, it is not only about the ills of humanity, but also about hope and optimism...Overall, it is a good thriller... Alex Markman, Author The only book that gripped my attention in years, thank you for sharing. We (my company) are too sponsoring Christel House which is a World Wide organization for orphans to get schooling and high level education so they don't end up on the street or being trafficked. I did this inspired by your book, so thank you for that and keep up the good work of getting word around.
