Cats are quirky creatures. They were once worshipped by ancient civilizations as gods and they remember. Despite humans' best efforts to domesticate these feisty felines, cats dance to their own tune. Have you ever wondered why cats stare at a spot where you see nothing? Or why they are possessed by the zoomies at three in the morning? Or perhaps why they insist on laying on your chest and purring when you have a cold or are feeling sad? Could there be more to cats than meets the eye?
Ki-Ang is a Kahu or guardian of Ni (a soul with awesome power). As a cat Kahu, his mission is to guide and protect vulnerable Ni until they can fully connect with their light. In return, a fully connected Ni will help ignite the spark of light in other souls and help to provide powerful energy to keep the forces of Chaos imprisoned. This task is not an easy one, as a vulnerable Ni is susceptible to infection by the Darkness known as the Gaudium Cleptes. Should the Darkness gain control of a Ni's power, it could spread like wildfire, corrupting not only the Ni but all those around them. Ki-Ang and his fellow cat guardians have been successfully protecting human Ni for millennia, but hubris comes before the fall. Will an evolved darkness get the better of the furry guardians or will their feline ferocity be enough to keep the darkness at bay?
Join Ki-Ang and his fellow feline Kahu as they navigate missions with souls that need their help. Be brave, as they face down inner city gangs and medieval tyrants. Be compassionate, as they hold space to allow for grieving. Be supportive, as they help confused souls discover their worth. Be strong, as they fight for freedom and fairness. Be heroic, as they fight to keep the chaotic forces of Tiamat contained.
Nekomancers: Soul Purrtectors by Mel Tokken is appropriate for young adult, adult, or seasoned readers. The content is slightly dark but clean, no foul language or explicit sexuality. This book does cover sensitive subjects, but is still appropriate for young adult readers. Some of the darker themes may be triggering for some. However, the purrpose of this book is to explore darker, demonized emotions and help the reader to better cope with these uncomfortable feelings while being able to come through the storm unscathed. Also in
