The world finds itself in an era of unprecedented complexity and challenge. Social fragmentation, collective anxiety, mental exhaustion, and a profound sense of meaninglessness have become persistent global afflictions. Traditional knowledge systems and theoretical frameworks prove inadequate when confronting the profound dilemmas of the human psyche. At their core, profound societal crises are crises of the mind. The book Mindology of Yi does not seek to overturn or replace traditional psychology. It confronts the Western-centrist limitations of traditional psychology, starting from the primordial source of consciousness to propose a theoretical and methodological system with universal applicability across regions, beliefs, and cultures. The essential distinction between psychology and Mindology lies in the following:
Psychology tends to construe 'psychological problems' as pathological conditions, viewing the individual as a patient in need of treatment.
Mindology, by contrast, does not recognize so-called 'psychological problems' as pathology, but rather as different stages in the development of the mind.
Accordingly, the appropriate response to such conditions is not primarily medical intervention, but the facilitation of mental growth. The theoretical orientation of Mindology can be summarize as manifestation and origin.
Within these pages, consciousness is defined as the manifestation and macro-interactive appearance of Mindology within living organisms. Consequently, it posits that effective resolution of mind-body phenomena necessitates tracing back to consciousness's primordial level. Many so-called psychological issues are in truth mind issues; only by returning to the origin of the mind can one trace back to the source and see clearly through the fog.
