The Government of the Peoples' Republic of Bangladesh enacted International Criminal Tribunal Act in 1973 to establish court to try the perpetrators war crimes, crimes against humanity and other crimes listed in the Act by the then President Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Later under the Act, the Government of Sheikh Hasina established ICT to try the collaborators and perpetrators of Crimes against Humanity during the liberation war of 1971. In this court, political opponents of Sheikh Hasina has been tried illegally and judicial killing has been perpetrated at broad day light.
