Mad Mic is a real-time, one-hour dive into the gloriously unhinged world of The Cosmic Frequency, a fictional underground rock radio station in 1975. The entire play unfolds in their cramped, analog control room, a monument to questionable interior design and barely-functioning electronics. At the helm is Captain Jack Flash, a DJ who's less Captain and more philosophical cruise director, spinning vinyl with ramblings so deep they might just be puddles. He's supported by his razor-sharp sidekick, Roxie Starr, whose wit is faster than a runaway tape deck and whose eye-rolls could power a small city. Holding the tattered fabric of reality together, barely, is Harold The Herald Finch, the station's newsman, whose news desk is a stack of old concert flyers and whose biggest fear is accidentally saying groovy on air.
