Discover this incredulous, bizarre story of the trials and tribulations of community living, a punch-up in paradise. M.T. Wessels is a beautifully crafted and humorous account of polite and hostile neighbourly encounters. A series of unwarranted complaints between residents escalate into heated exchanges and aggravation, finally ending up in a full-blown confrontation in the high court.

A total breakdown of communication on all sides gives way to vengeance and victimization, where intolerance and egos obstructed the flow of basic common sense. In the final analysis, diplomacy and logic are washed overboard and replaced by an explosive conflagration of minds and wills, bankrupting the entire community.

Journey with me through Syringa Valley, a gated and fenced residential estate in an idyllic tropical setting, where the human inhabitants seemingly had less freedom than the wildlife in an adjacent game park. You will be spellbound and speechless at times. But just strap yourself in, ride the punches and enjoy the contest.

My old pal Marcus said he laughed his socks off. I hope you will too.
