Since the brutal conclusion of events at Meleknough 135A1, things were supposed to calm down in the Jimmian star system. The centennial junction of worlds typically brings celebrations, extended holidays and general good will. But not this time.
Sharing more than a dangerously close orbit with Jimmian is the seemingly benign and backward planet of Radrolf. Half a million years ago, these two worlds were one, as were their peoples.
But recently a long-buried secret has awakened on Radrolf - a secret that answers many ominous questions. And sometimes an answer can be more dangerous than the question. Worse still is being unable to do anything about it.
The Jimmians have discovered that only a foreigner - someone with sufficiently alien genes can get the job done. And to Her Majesty Zequ, the beautiful, young queen of Jimmian, that means only one person.
On Earth, William Faridon's choices have gone terribly wrong and only his peculiar sister Cinthia seems to think everything will be okay. She knows a secret too - one that will change everything and impact all worlds, if she can convince him to risk his future for one more choice.
Vigil of the Watcher is the second installment in the remarkable Life of Lord Bagrin, balancing Science Fiction and Fantasy, it introduces the modern age to the unlimited power of the ancient and mysterious Amocil-Marée, Masters of the Elements. Thought to be more fantasy than fact, many scholars consider them a myth, if they know of them at all. The last of them disappeared over seven thousand years ago. But William will need all the help he can get this time - especially that of his brilliant sister Cinthia, the first Amoc-Marée in seven millennia.
