Through a series of accidents and dubious choices, William Faridon, a young man from Earth, finds himself drawn further and further across the galaxy. Caught between Jimmians and Korzons, aliens in a deadly conflict, William is a high school junior, who mostly wants to get back to his family, if he can resist his overwhelming attraction to the lovely young Jimmian queen.
Zequ is the daughter of the ill-fated Crown Princess Senis and granddaughter of King Andrenough. Just four years into her reign as Jimmian's sovereign Queen, Zequ is struggling to maintain political power and manage an unpopular war she inherited. Beautiful and secretive, Zequ has plans of her own for her unexpected human 'guest'. And they are definitely not in William's best interest.
Seventy thousand light years from Earth, the Jimmian star system is a mess of politics and social unrest and their violent Korzon enemy isn't interested in a negotiated peace. Can William ever get back to Earth and his family? Does he really want to?
Making Choices, the debut entry in The Life of Lord Bagrin, sets the stage for the world-shattering events to come in Vigil of the Watcher, and Worlds at War.
