Born in Southern California and raised in Hawaii, Corky Sandoval grew up around surfing and surf culture. He would be the first to admit that he himself wasn't the best surfer, but he was, in his words, committed. Returning to the mainland after high school, he decided to try to surf in as many locations in the United States as possible. Traveling in an old Plymouth with his best friend, Gabe, he worked his way across the country, meeting some interesting characters and enjoying many unexpected adventures. He even had the opportunity to meet his idol, surf champion Corky Carroll, on Virginia Beach. Little did Corky know that he would discover some jarring facts about his background that would change his life forever.
