Tekomin Williams, also known as Tek from the Legendary Hip Hop group Smif -n- Wessun, takes us on a journey as he opens up from having dreams of being a professional boxer while following in the footsteps of his boxing idol Mike Tyson, to becoming a highly well-known lyricist and member of one of the greatest duos of all time in Hip Hop history. Tek, from Bedstuy in Brooklyn, New York, has been in the music industry over 30 years and closely associated with many Hip Hop legends including two of the most famous in Tupac Shakur and Christopher Notorious B.I.G Wallace. In this story, you will read about many of Tek's best experiences as an artist, but he will only bring you as close as he would allow to some of the toughest moments he has endured privately. Tek, not really known for being so public when it comes to his personal dealings, does an amazing job opening up and bringing us closer to what life has been like for him behind the scenes and away from the stage.
Through the process of writing his story, Tek expressed that although it was tough for him to have to relive the moments of losing many who were closest to him, that it also helped him to become more accepting to God's plans while pushing him to create great and timeless music. Legacy of Lyrics isn't just a story about being an artist. It is also a story that will help encourage and motivate many to pursue their dreams. Tek, who did not believe in himself at one point to have what it takes to become an MC, confirms that Hip Hop chose him. Tek went from emulating other MC's in the hallways of Graphic Communication and Arts in Manhattan to perfecting his style and craft and performing on stages all across the world. While this dedicated father, legendary music artist, and great actor can be proud about his outstanding career, Tek can now add author to his long list of achievements.
