『Ktei Kojiki den』is the second volume of Motoori Norinaga's extensive commentary on the Kojiki, Japan's oldest extant chronicle. Motoori Norinaga (1730-1801) was a prominent scholar of Kokugaku, a school of Japanese philology and philosophy that sought to restore native Japanese culture and thought by purging foreign influences, particularly those from China and Buddhism. His meticulous analysis of the Kojiki aimed to reveal the authentic spirit of ancient Japan.
