Kagami Reiki Shoden Student Manual is a beginner-level Reiki training manual for students entering the first teachings of the Kagami Reiki path.
Shoden means first teachings or beginner teachings. At this level, the student begins with the self through the Reiki precepts, meditation, breath practice, gasshō, self-treatment, reiju, ethical practice with others, and daily reflection.
Kagami Reiki means Mirror Reiki. This manual presents Reiki practice through the contemplative framework of the mirror, the ink, and the cloth. The mirror represents original clarity. The ink represents what obscures that clarity, such as anger, worry, fear, confusion, and old patterns. The cloth represents daily practice: the steady return to breath, hands, precepts, meditation, compassion, and sincere self-observation.
This manual includes instruction and reflection on:
Reiki history and foundational teachings
The Reiki precepts as daily practice
Gasshō, meditation, and breath awareness
Kenyoku Hō and other preparatory practices
Self-treatment and treating others
Ethics, consent, and scope of practice
Reiju / attunement within the Shoden path
Mirror and Ink reflection practice
Fudōshin, the steady heart-mind
The Great Bright Light as remembered clarity
Creating a simple Shoden practice space
Daily practice structure and student integration
The purpose of this manual is not to overwhelm the beginner student with complexity. Its purpose is to support sincere practice, clear understanding, and steady return. Kagami Reiki teaches that the path begins simply: practice, reflect, return.
This student manual is intended for use with Kagami Reiki Shoden training and may also serve as a companion for continued daily practice after class.
