Altitude separation in conjunction with two weapon systems would allow the total time needed over the drop zone (DZ) for a strategic brigade airdrop (SBA) package to be reduced. The integration of joint precision airdrop system(s) (JPADS) into SBA would allow precision placement of both container delivery system (CDS) and heavy equipment (HE) through preprogrammed global position system (GPS) coordinates. This would increase accuracy from the current delivery systems. JPADS have an accuracy of 25 to 300 meters from a point of impact (PI) when using a computed air release point established from 25,000 feet mean sea level (MSL). The typical accuracy is closer to the 50 to 150 meter mark to the PI depending upon the system.
