For the two and a half seasons Jose Mourinho spent at Old Trafford, it has to be said with hindsight now, his record considering what has evolved since was truly remarkable. Two trophies, (three including the Charity Shield), a second place and FA Cup finalists runners up. That Jose himself admitted taking that Manchester United team to a second place league position was his ''greatest achievement.'' Many would have said when he first claimed such that ''Mourinho was just being Mourinho.'' Now, in reflection considering what was going on behind the scenes, maybe he was being serious after all. I also believe those whom claimed the ''Special One'' had lost a touch of magic dust. That the sparkle in his eye had vanished surely related to the loss of his father that same summer, and his family not wanting to live in Manchester. Thus the living arrangement staying at the Lowry Hotel. Hardly Faulty Towers by the way! Jose's apartment was one of splendour. That his time at Manchester United ultimately ended in utter carnage with Carrington said to have become ''poisoned'' with the fall out between the coach and certain players was always something of an inevitably.
